1,542 fire-rated and architectural assemblies installed across eleven facilities at Bangladesh’s largest aviation project — passive fire protection delivered to international standard under consortium-managed quality control.

Scope
- 1,271 doors — timber, steel, light-steel, fire-rated, acoustic and sliding types
- 212 shutters — 201 steel roller and 11 fire-rated zincalume
- 59 fire-rated steel windows
Installed across eleven separate facilities: Terminal 3 Main, ECT Main and Out House, ICT Main and Out House, the multi-level car park, AGL substation, fire fighting station, intake power station, generator house, sewage treatment plant, and water supply system.
Passive fire protection at scale
Fire-rated doors, shutters and glazed screens are the part of a fire strategy that is easiest to compromise on site. A rated assembly only performs if it is installed exactly as certified — correct frame fixing, correct clearances, correct ironmongery, intact intumescent seals. On a project of this scale, that discipline has to hold across more than 1,500 assemblies and eleven buildings.
Assemblies were sourced from certified manufacturers in Thailand, Malaysia and China, with panic hardware and a master keying system from specialist suppliers. Installation was documented and coordinated through the consortium’s Oracle Aconex document control system, to Samsung C&T’s quality regime.
Delivery
Peak deployment exceeded 150 personnel on the Other Buildings package, with 65 or more working concurrently on Terminal 3 Main. A completion certificate was issued by the main contractor effective January 2025, and the twelve-month defects liability period closed in January 2026 with performance security and retention released.
Working inside an international consortium — to Samsung C&T’s programme, documentation and inspection standards — is a different discipline from domestic contracting. It is the credential we point to when a client asks whether we can operate under formal project controls.
