Compartmentation is the part of a fire strategy nobody sees. A two-hour fire wall stops being a two-hour fire wall the moment somebody drills through it for a cable and does not seal it properly — and that happens on almost every building, repeatedly, long after handover.

Firestopping is the area where our Principal Engineer holds the deepest formal certification — three UL-accredited qualifications:
- Firestop Installer Training (FIT) Level 1 — Specified Technologies Inc., valid to 2029
- Advanced Firestop Executive Installer (e-BEST) — Hilti Academy, valid to 2029
- Through-Penetration Firestopping for Engineers — Hilti Academy, valid to 2029

Rated assemblies only perform as installed
A fire door tested to UL-10C or EN 1634-1 achieves its rating as a complete assembly — leaf, frame, fixings, clearances, intumescent seals and ironmongery together. Change any element and the certification no longer describes what is on site.
At HSIA Terminal 3 we installed 1,542 assemblies — 1,271 doors, 212 shutters and 59 fire-rated steel windows — across eleven facilities, to that discipline, under consortium inspection.
Existing buildings
If your building has been extended, rewired or refitted, it almost certainly has unsealed penetrations. We survey compartment lines, document every breach, and seal them with tested systems — the cheapest fire protection improvement available to most existing facilities.
