Auto Crop Care Limited (Bhaluka) — Agrochemical Plant Fire Protection

Full-lifecycle fire protection for an agrochemical manufacturing plant — a high-hazard occupancy where a fire involving stored chemicals behaves nothing like a fire in a garment factory. Designed, supplied, installed, commissioned and now maintained by RADS, with third-party validation by Bureau Veritas.

Why high-hazard changes the design

Agrochemical storage carries a far higher fire load than general manufacturing, and the water demand rises accordingly. That drives everything downstream: larger pump capacity, ESFR (Early Suppression, Fast Response) sprinkler heads rather than standard-response, denser hydrant coverage, and a hydraulic design that has to hold up under third-party scrutiny.

The design was reviewed and validated by Bureau Veritas — the second of our projects to pass independent third-party engineering review, alongside the RSC-approved designs at TED Bernhardtz.

  • 44 hose cabinets — 16 Class 1 and 30 Class 2
  • 30 landing valves (65 mm) and 10 pillar hydrants
  • Alarm, check, butterfly, gate, ball and air-relief valves, pressure-reducing valves and zone control valves
  • 1500 USGPM fire pump set with dedicated control panel

Specialist valves and instrumentation were imported directly — pressure-reducing valves, flow-test meters, air-release valves, pillar hydrants and flexible connectors from established UK, US and Middle East manufacturers — and coordinated to the installation programme.

Maintained, not just installed

NFPA 25 annual inspection, testing and maintenance was written into the scope from the outset rather than bolted on afterwards. A fire protection system degrades quietly — valves seize, gauges drift, pumps lose prime — and NFPA 25 exists precisely because installed does not mean working.

Work has continued across the site since handover: hydrant extensions, fire alarm servicing, pipework modifications, additional design services, kitchen standpipe and landing valve works through 2025.

This is the second Auto Crop Care site RADS protects, alongside THE NEST in Bogura — two plants, different hazard profiles, one continuing relationship.
